Defender. Played 61 times for Canada. Clubs: Toronto Blizzard 1982-84, Glasgow Rangers 1984-86, Doncaster Rovers 1986-88, Hamilton Academicals 1988-94, St. Johnstone 1994, Hearts 1994-95, Dunfermline Athletic 1995-98, Ayr United 1998, player-manager Hamilton Academicals 1998-99. Ayr United. Hamilton Steelers 1988 and 1990. Born in Scotland but grew up in Vancouver and played five times for the national youth team and was then signed by Toronto Blizzard of the NASL in 1982. He played 23 games for the Blizzard in three years in the NASL and when the NASL folded moved to Scotland. He was soon signed by Glasgow Rangers in the Scottish League, where he played twice in the Scottish League team and once in the Scottish Cup in season 198586 and later in a UEFA Cup game in October 1986. He was transferred to Doncaster Rovers in England later in 1986 where he appeared in 61 games and scored three goals. Then it was back to Scotland where he played 199 times for Hamilton between 1988 and 1994, 12 games for St. Johnstone in 1994, 16 games for Hearts in the 1994-95 season, 62 times for Dunfermline from 1995 to 1998, 6 times for Ayr United in 1998, and another eight times for Hamilton Academicals in the 1998-99 season as player manager. That's a total of 305 games in the Scottish League. Along the way he returned to Canada in the summers to play in the CSL for Hamilton Steelers in 1988 (27 games) and 1990 (11 games) and to captain the full national team. Made his international debut in 1983 against Scotland and was a member of the World Cup team in Mexico in 1986. When his Scottish career was over he returned to Canada and coached the Canadian national team briefly during 2003.
