Played 61 times for Canada. Clubs: Edmonton Drillers 1980-82, Vancouver Whitecaps 1983-84, Golden Bay Earthquakes 1984, Toronto Blizzard 1988. A member of the national youth team in 1978 and 1979, Mike quickly made himself a regular member of the full national team despite very limited professional experience. Joining the Edmonton Drillers in 1980, he soon became a regular with the team at left back and when the season ended found himself on the World Cup team. In 1981 was once again selected for the World Cup, playing in midfield and was a mmeber of the 1986 World Cup team in Mexico. He continued to represent Canada with distinction well into the 1990s. Played in a total of 129 NASL games in five seasons and scored four goals. Also played seven seasons in the Major Indoor Soccer league appearing in 277 games and scoring 74 goals with Cleveland, Minnesota and Baltimore.
