Half back. Played 33 times for Canada's full national team as well as for the Olympic and youth national teams. A great season with Vancouver Whitecaps in 1980 won him full international recognition. Played in all eight internationals late in that year and was a member of the 1986 World Cup team. He was also a member of the national youth team that played in the World Youth Championship in Japan in 1979. A dead ball specialist, he scored a memorable goal against Mexico in the Azteca Stadium in 1980. Named to the NASL's first North American AllStar team in 1982 and the second in 1981 and 1984. A member of the Chicago team that beat Toronto to win the NASL championship in 1984.
