One of the most polished defenders ever developed in Canada. Played every game of 1976 NASL season with Toronto Metros Croatia when they won the league championship. Made his international debut that year at right back. Coach Barrie Clarke made him into a sweeper for the World Cup qualifying games of 1980 and 1981. Was with New York Cosmos in 1977 and 1978 when he played on their Soccer Bowl winning teams. Toured Europe and South America with the Cosmos during the winter of 1978-79 but was traded to Washington Diplomats in the spring of 1979. After two seasons in Washington returned to the Cosmos for 1981 and played in his third Soccer Bowl.
