One of the most highly respected soccer writers in the game during his many years with Manchester City News, New Westminster Columbian and the Vancouver Province. He also served as a soccer analyst with B.C. Television covering the Vancouver Whitecaps games in the North American Soccer League, and wrote regularly for Soccer America. Jeff was the first writer for a Canadian daily to cover the World Cup in England in 1966. He was the recipient of Canadian Sports Federation Sportswriter and Broadcaster Award in both 1968 and again in 1973. Later he served as a valued member of the Hall of Fame selection committee from which illness caused him to resign and is Canada's first journalist to be inducted.
