In the early 1990’s a Heritage Committee was created to help preserve the history of soccer in Canada. Soon after the committee was formed, they began to focus on the concept of a museum to educate and celebrate soccer. This led to the incorporation of the Soccer Hall of Fame and Museum in September 1997. The Museum was opened in Vaughan at The Soccer Centre in 2000.
The Museum operates under the auspices of, and is managed by, a Board of Governors appointed by the Ontario Soccer Association. The collection at the Soccer Hall of Fame and Museum consists of artifacts as well as an archival collection.
The Museum strives to preserve and display our soccer history, to celebrate our soccer achievements and to collect record and interpret our soccer heritage.
"It's great to see the past still living in the present and to learn new things about this amazing game"
