The Sporting Life of Herbert Leah

The Organisation of Distinction for 2015 was Montreal Carsteel, the soccer team of the Canadian Car and Foundry Company. The team was started by the famed Len Peto, already in the Hall, and hosted a number of wonderful players over the years, not least Hall of Famers Doug McMahon and Sam Chedzgoy. Herbert Leah was on a number of those teams as well and his daughter Lianne Mills was able to attend the recent banquet for the induction of this years class. By all accounts she had a good time and promised to introduce her brother Gord Leah, who was in possession of a scrapbook filled with newspaper clippings, photographs, and other ephemera related to Herbert's sporting life. Gord was kind enough to leave the scrapbook at the museum for a short term loan so it could be looked over in further detail and any interesting pages scanned in.
