Soccer Hall of Fame mourns the loss of Dave Fryatt


It is with deep sorrow that the Soccer Hall of Fame has learned of the passing away of Mr. Dave Fryatt. 

Mr. Fryatt is a past Canada Soccer President, Life Member and was inducted into the Soccer Hall of Fame and Museum in 2000.

Fryatt began as a secretary and player with the Collingwood Soccer Club of Vancouver from 1947 to 1952.

As the Past President of Canada Soccer (1961-63), he held numerous positions within the Canadian and British Columbia Soccer Associations from 1952 up until the modern era.

He attended 43 Canadian Soccer Association Annual General Meetings between 1953 and 1996 and was elected a life member of Canada Soccer in 1972.


He served as the Canada Soccer Executive Member on Canada's first World Cup team in 1957 and on the tour of the Soviet Union and the United Kingdom in 1960.

He was awarded the Government of Canada Centennial Medal in 1967 and was head of the Canada Soccer Delegation to the Pan American Games in Indianapolis in 1987. He was inducted into the British Columbia Sports Hall of Fame in 1983.
