Brian Philley - Born: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, August 15, 1926. Died: Vancouver, B.C., August 30, 2002. Played 4 times for Canada and 10 times for the B.C. All Stars. Clubs: Vancouver City, Vancouver Halecos. A member of Canada's World Cup team in 1957, he was with Halecos when they won the Canadian Championship in 1956. Later became a referee and a member of the board of directors of the B.C. Soccer Association. Made his first appearance for British Columbia against Newcastle United in 1949 and later played against Northern Ireland, Tottenham Hotspur and three games against Moscow Locomotive. Inducted into the B.C. Sports Hall of Fame in 1997.
